I am a bit of a foody.
Ok, I do, I like my food.
Anyway, as a bit of a home cook, I like knives.
Not your “Bowie”, gut the elk, disembowl an enemy sort of knife. The joint a chicken, cut up a cucumber sort of knife.
Anyway, I was in Sainsburys in Salford the other day and they have a nice range of knives. I bought a new paring knife.
Its sort of like a sabatier, but made fatter, and with all the edges rounded off. Theres no rebate to the blade at all so its not good for chopping, but as a small utility knife, its excellent. The hand-feel is good, the handle has a significant weight to it and its pleasing to the eye.
Check it out.
