The Hard Last Letter of Contempt

I am constantly amazed at the amount of communication that while verbal is not in the letters but the intonation.

Amy has picked up a new and annoying habit.

She is very stubborn, and insists on having things her way or NO way.

And now, she shows her contempt for our misbehaviour by saying…

“Da-D! Liste-N”

or some such.

It drives me NUTS.

I don’t know where these linguistic switchblades are coming from but I wish they would stop.

Is there some little wizzened old man at the school gates saying

“Listen kids, do you want to watch your old dad climb the walls? Well, here’s what to do.”
