I have finally got a new laptop.
My previous one was a very old Toshibal Libretto with 133meg processor and 64 meg of ram. (Stop laughing!)
It died a while ago when it got pushed off of a table by someone (cat? child?, who knows!)
I have been looking for a decent moderately priced laptop since.
On Saturday I popped into PC World for a laugh. Looking through the laptops I noticed a Fujitsu Siemens (isn’t that a name right out of a cyberpunk novel!) that had decent memory, hard disk and was reasonably priced. I was sorely tempted right then and there. I manfully resisted.
On getting home I went through the usual suspects (Aria, Span, MicroDirect and bigpockets) nothing seemed as good a “fit” as the PC World one.
I then noticed, they where using that particular laptop in their commercials.
Had a bit more of a “rummage” around the internet but nothing really “fit”.
So, I woke up early tuesday and thought about it…. Pros, Cons, everything.
Decided to get it. Went th PC World and got one of the last two that they had. It has apparently, been flying off the shelves.
So, I am now the proud owner of a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo L laptop with 1.3gig processor, 512meg ram and a 40 gig hdd.

analogue modem
wifi.
I have had problems using the wifi, but will sort this out in good time.
