I AM a geek.
As such, you could probably not count the amount of times I have been told…
“Get a Life!”
Well, now I have, a SecondLife anyway.
I know, I know, that brands me as even more of a geek than I was before I started writing this.
I tried SL (as we call it!) about a year ago and found it slow and clunky. It was probably more a reflection of my hardware than anything else.
So, I have been hearing about it in the geeksites and thought I would try it out again.
Boy, am I lost. It IS addictive. The amalgamation of “physical objects” and scripting is really quite fun to play with. If only they would adopt a NICE scripting language.
I can understand why they have gone the route of designing their own scripting language, they have to make the scripting VERY light on the old cycles. They are having MANY scripts running in tandem on computer systems whose specifications they do not control.
Its a lot of quite satisfying fun.
